Ronnie O’Sullivan, reigning six-time world champion has been knocked out of the European Masters by teenager Aaron Hill in Milton Keynes.
This defeat to Hill was O’Sullivan’s first match lost ever since winning his sixth world title.
O’Sullivan was on the track of victory when he made his first century of the season to lead 4-3 in the best-of-nine-frames match.
But the 18-year-old Irishman Hill levelled and then won by clinching the decider with a break of 78.
Ranked the world No 115, Hill is in his first season as a professional.
Earlier in August, O’Sullivan had criticised the standard of younger players on his way to winning the World Snooker Championship.
