New Zealand opener Finn Allen has tested positive for Covid-19 two days after arriving in Bangladesh.
As being reported, Allen had arrived in Bangladesh two days before the rest of the team along with all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme after the pair played in The Hundred.
While the rest of the New Zealand contingent arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon for a 5-match T20I series starting on September 1.
Following the confirmation of contracting COVID-19, Allen was immediately quarantined at the team’s hotel in Dhaka, where he is receiving treatment from Bangladesh Cricket Board’s chief medical officer.
New Zealand Cricket in a statement said that Allen, who is fully vaccinated, is experiencing mild symptoms and is serving quarantine at the team hotel.
Allen will be monitored by the New Zealand team doctor Pat McHugh and will be cleared to play only after showing two negative tests.
