Hassan Ali undergoes finger surgery after sustaining injury during LPL qualifier

Hassan Ali sustained a finger injury during Lanka Premier League LPL qualifier at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

The 29-year-old pacer who has been representing Dambulla Aura in the tournament, sustained the injury in the final over of the first Qualifier match against Galle Titans.

He could only bowl three overs in the Qualifier and had to leave the field.

Pakistani pacer Hassan Ali has undergone finger surgery on Friday in Sri Lanka following his finger injury.

Hassan Ali faced a major setback as he will now miss out on Pakistan’s team for the Afghanistan ODI series and Asia Cup, both are scheduled in Sri Lanka.

In a statement shared on X, the former Twitter, Hassan said, “Saddened to share that I suffered a finger injury during our qualifier yesterday and had to go through surgery for it. A pretty unfortunate end to a great tournament for me personally, however, will like to look at the positives and thank my team management and medical staff for looking after me. Big thank you to all the fans for supporting me and would now request you all to pray for my recovery.”

 

Meanwhile, his team beat the Titans in the Qualifier by six wickets to make it into the final.

They will play against either Titans or B-Love Kandy, who are set to take on each other in the last playoff match tomorrow, in the final which is scheduled for August 20.

Hassan Ali finished the LPL season four with eight wickets in five matches at an average of 16 and an economy of 6.8.
