Wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal is heartbroken after being snubbed from the national squad.
While appearing on a sports TV show, he once again expressed his frustration as he put the question of whether he would have to “ask Prime Minister Imran Khan” in order to return to the playing eleven.
38-year-old, in the interview, laminated, “There is a limit. It has been five years. It was claimed that those who perform would be automatically selected. Should we go perform in the Indian or Australian system to get into the team? Who is going to check my performances in all formats? The prime minister?”.
“There are many players like me and Fawad Alam who are deserving. I have performed in the Pakistan Super League and have been a top performer in domestic formats”, he further added.
It was earlier, after the announcement of Pakistan squad to play against Bangladesh, Akmal shared his disappointment.
Kamran Akmal in a tweet wrote, “Hurt & heart is broken for not being considered 4 Pak team. I have really worked hard ..anyways I won’t give up I will work harder & would like to thank everyone who supported me jazak Allah thank you”.
