Khurram Shahzad ruled out of series against Australia
Pakistan pacer Khurram Shahzad has been ruled out of the series against Australia amid injury!
Shahzad’s scans, after he complained of discomfort, showed a stress fracture in the ribs along with an abdominal muscle tear.
On his debut in Perth, the 24-year-old pacer had been impressive finishing with match figures of 5-128 and removing Steve Smith twice.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in a statement updating on Khurram Shehzad’s injury said, “Khurram Shazad has been ruled out of the Test series against Australia due to a stress fracture in his left 10th rib, as well as an abdominal muscle tear.”
“Fast bowler Khurram Shahzad complained of discomfort in his left side during the first Test.”
“PCB will now consult a specialist in Australia after which a final management protocol will be established for the player.”
“Khurram Shahzad will then return to Lahore, where he will continue his injury management and rehabilitation,” the board added.
Pakistan have Hasan Ali and Mohammad Wasim in their squad as potential replacements for Khurram Shahzad.
