Pakistan’s Shajar Abbas has failed to qualify for the final in the 100m racing event at Asian Athletics Championship!
In the semis on Friday, Abbas finished in fourth place, clocking 10.45 seconds, during his heat.
The last athlete who qualified for the next round had a time of 10.38 seconds.
Shajar could have made it if he had repeated his personal best performance of 10.37 seconds.
Eight players, the top two of each semi-final heat along with the next two best finishers, had qualified for the final.
Here is the result of the final 100m race played later on Friday:
On Thursday, Shajar Abbas covered the distance in 10.37 seconds to qualify for the semi-finals in the 100 meters race during the Asian Athletics Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.
He also broke his own national record of 10.38 seconds he made at the Commonwealth Games last year.
Shajar was grouped in the 2nd semi-final along with Hiroki Yangatia of Japan who was a gold medalist in 4×100 in last year’s World U20 Athletics Championship and Qatar’s Femi Ogunode – a former Gold medalist of Asian Games and Asian Championship.
