Pakistan’s cricket board on Friday has warned the national players to meet fitness standards.
The PCB officials seek to address the team’s fall in the international rankings and for this reason, have warned its players if they fail to meet standard mark they might be fined up to 15 percent of their salary.
New head coach Misbah-ul-Haq is paying more attention to the players’ fitness issues with making efforts to lift the standard, stressing that fitness will be paramount.
According to the PCB press release that came out on Friday, “All the available centrally contracted players will attend the two-day testing on January 6 and 7 in Lahore and any player failing to meet the minimum fitness requirements will be fined 15 percent of his monthly retainer”.
The cut will be maintained until the player gets fit again, says the press release.
Furthermore, PCB has warned that any player failing consecutive tests “will risk the chances of retaining his central contract category and may face demotion.
As being reported the fitness tests will cover fat analysis, strength, endurance, speed endurance and cross-fit, and will carry equal weightage.
