WhatsApp goes down worldwide

WhatsApp users are not being able to send or receive messages on the messaging platform

WhatsApp, a popular messaging application went down across the world on Tuesday morning.

Thousands of Whatsapp users worldwide, including Pakistan, reported that they are facing issues while using the application.

Meta’s spokesperson shared a statement following a glitch in the messaging app.

“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible,” a Meta spokesperson said.

According to the outage tracker Downdetector, the app went down shortly before noon.

Downdetector stated that more than 11,000 users across India had reported an outage, while the numbers for the United Kingdom were at 68,000 and 19,000 for Singapore as of about 0750 GMT.

WhatsApp services have been suspended across the world including in Pakistan.

Users are facing issues using the app whereby they are unable to send messages to groups.

The issue was pointed out by users on the microblogging website Twitter and people from all over the world reported that messages were not being sent to WhatsApp groups while messages were being sent to individual users.

Also, users who are using the desktop version of WhatsApp are also facing problems connecting the app to their phones.

#WhatsApp has become the top trend on Twitter in Pakistan with more than 40,000 users talking about the outage.
