None in the audience could set the record straight to Javed Akhtar’s remarks at Faiz Festival

Editor's Note.

I am left surprised and shocked as no one sitting in the audience chose to set the record straight. Hospitality is one thing but applauding misinformation is another!

It emerges that at the 7th Faiz Festival held in Lahore, Indian poet, songwriter and filmmaker Javed Akhtar wasin attendance from February 17 to 19.

During his session, he also spoke on Pak-India cultural relations, importance of regional languages in both countries and tension between the two countries.

Javed Akhtar during his speech also lamented that till date no program has been organized in Pakistan to commemorate or pay tribute to Lata Mangeshkar.

He claimed that programs were organized to pay tribute to singers like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Mehdi Hasan in India.

On this claim of the Indian songwriter, the participants of the event applauded and applauded him.

In the same conversation, Javed Akhtar went to insult Pakistan and said that he is a resident of Mumbai and he saw the attack there with his own eyes.

He said that those who attacked Mumbai did not come from Egypt or Norway.

Addressing the audience at the festival without naming Pakistan, Javed Akhtar said that the people of Mumbai attacks are still roaming in your country and bear it as an Indian’s suspicion.

And after a clip from his adress went viral on social media, netizens came forward to slam the Indian poet and Bolywood lyricist.

Now whats the use to cry over the spilit milk? None of the audience at the event and the organizers had the courage to question this Indian person at his face!
