Though the battle is in court of law, yet again Singer Meesha Shafi took to Twitter to clarify her claim that Ali Zafar is the only one who harassed her throughout her career.
The tweet came in response to a Twitterati, who asked Meesha how it was possible that only one man could have harassed Shafi throughout her entire career, demanding to quote names of all of them [harassers] if she is a true lady.
Meesha Shafi replied, “Yes only he harassed me but he didn’t harass me only. Get it? Half a dozen other women coming forward not enough for you all? How many will it take? Please share a number.”
Singer Meesha Shafi has already deactivated her other social media accounts after bullying, threats and slander and is only active on twitter.
Meesha Shafi Deactivates Social Media Accounts After Bullying, Threats and Slander
It’s been a month since this #MeToo campaign took Pakistan like a storm when Meesha Shafi took to social media making sexual harassment allegations against singer actor Ali Zafar. It was on April 19th when Meesha shared her experience, “Sharing this because I believe that by speaking out about my own experience of sexual harassment, I will break the culture of silence that permeates through our society. It is not easy to speak out. But it is harder to stay silent. My conscience will not allow it anymore #MeToo”
However, Ali has categorically denied Shafi’s claims of harassment on Twitter and has sent her a legal notice. In response to it Ali Zafar was also served with a legal notice by Shafi’s legal aid. Now the ball is in the court of law but still there is an ongoing debate over social media about these allegations.
