Taylor Swift Makes a Hefty Donation of £40,000 to Portuguese Student in UK

Vitoria Mario, a Portuguese student in the UK, took to the GoFundMe page in order to get support to make it manageable living in the UK. Given a provisional admission in the University of Warwick due to her good grades, Vitoria shared she had no family help to survive in the UK otherwise.

“My name is Vitoria Mario, and I am a young Black 18-year-old with a dream,” said the student pursuing Mathematics degree.

“Though my story is not unique, my dream of becoming a mathematician is not only a chance at social mobility for my family and I, but to inspire people who have been in similar positions to aspire to be the best version of themselves and strive for their dreams despite gender/racial inequality, immigration issues, and financial barriers,” added the 18-year old.

Vitoria’s appeal caught the eye of the ever generous Taylor Swift who is often helping people and their causes. In return, she made a hefty donation of £40,000 to support the accommodation and living finances of the student.

“I came across your story online and am so inspired by your drive and dedication to turning your dreams into reality,” said Taylor.

“I want to gift you the rest of your goal amount. Good luck with everything you do! Love, Taylor,” she added.

Taylor’s generous gift helped Vitoria achieve a total of £43,000 on her GoFundMe page.
