Regarded as Pakistan’s King of Comedy, Umer Sharif was on his way to Washington to seek medical treatment, however, his health deteriorated during the flight.
The air ambulance made an emergency landing in Germany on Wednesday and Umer Sharif was admitted to the hospital in Berlin after the artist and his wife were given a 15-days visa on an emergency basis.
As being reported, the dialysis treatment on Saturday proved to be fatal and the legendry comedian breath his last, aged 66.

Umer Sharif gave a new life to stage dramas in Pakistan. Some of his extremely popular comedy stage plays are 1989’s Bakra Qistoon Pe and Buddha Ghar Pe Ha.
Sharif has received National awards for Best Director and Best Actor in 1992 for Mr. 420.
Umer Sharif was a recipient of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for his contributions as a comedian, actor, and producer in the entertainment industry.
Working for Lollywood, he received ten Nigar Awards and was the only artist to receive four of them in a year.
