A mob of around 70 people stormed the emergency ward of Karachi’s Civil Hospital on Friday night and attacked doctors and staff who were on duty.
As being reported, the violence was started after one of the attacker’s relative died of coronavirus and the hospital administration refused to hand over the body without proper protocols.
Reports said that this was the third incident of violence at the hospital against doctors and staff workers during the pandemic in Pakistan.
The relatives of the deceased, who had been brought to the hospital in a serious condition, turned violent after the patient passed away during treatment.
“They stormed the ER and took the body from the hospital without following any of the SOPs for coronavirus deaths, CHK Medical Superintendent Dr Khadim Qureshi said.
Meanwhile, police have lodged the FIR against the attackers.
