Razia Episode-4 Review: Will Razia be killed in the name of honour?

Razia has secretly passed intermediate exams and topped in the whole division

Express TV mini-series Razia is down with 4 episodes, and the play within a play, hitting all the right points. Although it is not a novel idea, the execution and treatment of the play make all the difference. Mahira Khan shins out as the bold narrator shaking the conscience of the audience. In the previous episode, we have seen Razia approaching Manno for help. In this episode, we get to know that she is asking him to help her in getting further studies.

Razia calls Manno for help, we were wondering if she might plan on eloping with him but no she has not done anything wrong. In fact, she has called him to help her out in getting admission for inter exams. Manno tries to help her out and when she needs money he even helps her out by giving reference to their childhood ventures. I am wondering why that doesn’t Razia need her father’s signature on the forms.

Razia clears her first year and no one in the family has gotten any idea that she is studying well it’s quite a stretch. Later we saw that Razia also passed her Inter exams and topped it. We get to know that Manno who is behind Razia empowering her, belongs to a minority community and he has feelings for her childhood friend. Well, it seems the play is tackling too many issues at a time. Manno being Hindu seems like a lesser chance of a successful love story. Well, poor Manno’s love story ended before starting. Razia’s brother catches him with Razia.

Razia’s brother’s concern is that if she is getting an education she will demand an equal share in the property. The mention of Auraat March how her father is disgusted with their narrative. There is also mention of Marvi and Khalil which is actually Menism vs feminism. Razia’s brother after suggesting lots of ways ends up giving the idea of gas leakage in the kitchen. It gives us goosebumps when Razia is about to light the matchstick. However, the gas load shedding saves Razia’s life, and she narrowly escapes the murder attempt. It makes us wonder how Razia gonna get saved next time! Powerful and brave storytelling!
