Hamza Ali Abbasi is currently enjoying the success of his airforce based film, Parwaaz Hai Junoon (PHJ) in which he plays an Air Force pilot along with costars, Hania Aamir and Ahad Raza Mir.
Hamza is proud of the fact that his film does not have an item number and in an interview with BBC Asian Network, he once again stated that “item numbers have nothing to do with a film’s success.”
The actor said there are the latest Pakistani films have all performed remarkably well at the box office, without involving item songs. “Tell me one single item number that has played a huge role in the success of a Pakistani film? None!”
“I left Jawani Phir Nahi Ani because it’s not a genre that I would (do).” He also added that he likes doing films that have a certain impact on the society.
