The Squid Game 2 teaser is out featuring 456 real people risking it all for a $4.56 Million challenge!
Netflix on Friday unveiled the first full trailer for the much-anticipated sequel of the original South Korean series “Squid Game: The Challenge.”
The Squid Game 2 challenge will kick off on November 22.
However, in the first teaser, there is no hint at the cast of the series.
“Though the reality version of ‘Squid Game‘ isn’t a matter of life or death, there’s still a lot on the line,” reveals the show’s logline.
“456 players will compete to win $4.56 million, the largest cash prize in reality television history. Through a series of games, each player will be pushed to their limits and forced to ask themselves just how far they’ll go to win, with opportunistic alliances, cutthroat strategies and timely betrayals to follow.”
Let’s wait to find out how the sequel will compete with the expectations as the first part became the most-watched Netflix series.
Squid Game: The Challenge has already been marred with controversy after it was reported that the contestants of the show required medical assistance during the shoot, which took place in the U.K. during a surprise cold snap.
Variety at the time reported that a number of contestants, who were not paid for their participation in the series, collapsed on set from a combination of cold and fatigue.
The new season along with the character of Gi-hun, Season 1 returnees will include Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), the leader of the masked staff behind the game; Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun), a detective who sneaks into the game in search of his brother; and the Recruiter (Gong Yoo), the mysterious man in the suit who initially invited Gi-hun to play the game.
Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who won an Emmy for his work on Season 1, has helmed and is also the executive all of Season 2.
