Gul Makai’s poster sums up Malala’s fight for education!

The poster of Gul Makai, the film based on the life of Pakistani activist and Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai is out and it looks pretty powerful. The poster highlights and sums up Malala’s fight for education and peace against the terrorists in Pakistan.

Gul Makai is the pseudonym Malala used while writing blogs for BBC Urdu during the Talibani rule. After being shot in her head for going to school on October 9, 2012, she not fought her fate and survive, she also continued her fight for women rights and education.

“One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world,” reads the poster for the film that was first announced back in September 2017.

The poster features Reem carrying a book caught in flames which represents the trials that Malala faced in her life. Adding to the intensity, Kabir Bedi’s deep voice echoes, “This is about those times when the Taliban was destroying Pakistan and Afghanistan in the name of Jihad and religion. When from a very small village in Pakistan, a voice arose.”

Directed by Amjad Khan, the film stars Reem Shaikh as Malala along with Divya Dutta and Atul Kulkarni.
