Ridley Scott’s Joaquin Phoenix starrer ‘Napoleon’ gets a release date!
Joaquin Phoenix has reunited with Ridley Scott two decades after “Gladiator” for an epic period piece “Napoleon” about the French ruler that will have its exclusive big screen release before making its streaming debut on Apple TV+.
The film will be released exclusively in theatres worldwide on Wednesday, November 22.
However, the date for its release on Apple TV+ has not yet been disclosed.
Along with the release date, the makers also unveiled the first look at Phoenix in the film. In the new image, he’s seen on a horseback with his men charging into battle.
The upcoming epic historical drama film is directed and produced by Ridley Scott and written by David Scarpa.
The story of the film is based on the French ruler Napoleon’s (Joaquin Phoenix) origins and his swift, ruthless climb to the emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine, played by Vanessa Kirby.
The other cast of the film includes Tahar Rahim as Paul Barras, Ben Miles as Caulaincourt, Ludivine Sagnier as Theresa Cabarrus, Matthew Needham as Lucien Bonaparte, Youssef Kerkour as General Davout, Phil Cornwell as Sanson ‘The Bourreau’, Edouard Philipponnat as Tsar Alexander, Paul Rhys as Talleyrand, John Hollingworth as Marshal Ney, Gavin Spokes as Moulins and Ian McNeice.
