In an unfortunate turn of events, one of the holiest sites for Muslims around the world, Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem caught fire last night.
According to a video circulating on the internet, smoke was seen rising from the top of the Marwani Prayer room also known as Solomon’s Stables.
“The fire broke out in the guard’s room outside the roof of the Marwani Prayer Room, shared WAFA news agency adding that the“fire brigade of the Islamic Waqf handled the matter successfully.”
No casualties have been reported.
On the other hand, a massive fire in Paris burned down the historic Notre Dame Cathedral. The massive fire that began in the evening spread rapidly burning down the roof and bringing down the spire. The blaze burnt straight for 8 hours before it was extinguished. The main bell towers and the outer walls have been saved from collapsing.
Whether the two fires are connected or occured as a coincidence is yet to be known. However, people from all faiths have been concerned and sending prayers from around the world.
