Ali Zaidi rebuts reports of leaving PTI

The rumors of Zaidi leaving PTI emerged after he was arrested by Sindh Police following PTI protests on May 9.

Ali Zaidi confirmed on Wednesday that he is not quitting PTI!

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Sindh President Ali Haider Zaidi held a presser as he was shifted to the hospital in Karachi’s Clifton area due to back pain.

“If you want me to Leave PTI then Shoot me in the forehead, this is my party, I’ve given 23 years to this party,” Ali Zaidi said.

He tearfully said that he will “leave PTI when Imran leaves it”

The rumors of Zaidi leaving PTI emerged after he was arrested by Sindh Police following protests on May 9.

Recalling the attacks on Radio Pakistan’s Peshawar office, Lahore Corps Commander House, and the martyrs’ monument, Zaidi said he was “hurt”.
“I condemn the May 9 incidents. Whatever happened on May 9 was terrorism,” the former federal minister told journalists in Karachi outside a hospital where he had come for treatment.
“Armed forces are the guardians of our borders and our country. We are Pakistan Army and Pakistan Army is us,” Ali Zaidi said.
He also alleged that the people within PTI plotting against him.

PTI leader Ali Zaidi also thanked authorities for granting his request of keeping him under house arrest instead of jail.

A day earlier, the Sindh home department declared the residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Zaidi a sub-jail in Karachi.

The decision was made in the exercise of powers under the Section 541(1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, Section 6(a) of the Sindh Prisons and Corrections Services Act, 2019, and Rule 2(1)(s) of the Sindh Prisons and Corrections Services Rules 2019.
