Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives and National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) Chairman Asad Umar once again has warned of the 4th COVID wave.
The federal minister’s warning comes a day after PM Imran Khan had warned the nation of a looming fourth wave of Covid-19 in the country due to delta variant and stressed to adhere to the SOPs.
In a message shared on Friday, the federal minister pointed that there are clear signs of a fourth Covid-19 wave starting in Pakistan.
“Two weeks back I had tweeted that our artificial intelligence models are showing possible emergence of 4th wave. Now there are clear early signs of 4th wave starting,” he said in a tweet.
“Poor compliance with coronavirus-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) and spread of virus variants, particularly Delta variant that was first detected in India, for the looming fourth wave of Covid-19,” he added.
The minister in his other tweet said that the field reports were showing a complete disregard of the condition of vaccination for those attending indoor weddings, and going to indoor restaurants and gyms.
“If the owners of these facilities do not show responsibility and ensure compliance, there will be no choice but to shut them down,” he had said.
