The Battagram Chairlift rescue operation has been concluded successfully on Tuesday evening, all 8 people were taken out to safety after more than 12 hours — who were dangling mid-air after the rope of a cable car broke in Allai Tehsil in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Battagram district.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in a statement announced that the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) has successfully rescued all eight passengers, including seven schoolchildren and a teacher.
The PM also praised the teamwork involved in the rescue mission including the military, rescue departments, district administration, and the locals.
“Relieved to know that Alhamdolillah all the kids have been successfully and safely rescued. Great teamwork by the military, rescue departments, district administration as well as the local people,” the premier said on X, previously known as Twitter.
