Pakistan skittled out Afghanistan winning the first ODI 142 runs!

Pakistan’s brilliant bowling attack outclassed Afghanistan’s batting lineup and bowled them out for just 59 runs chasing 202 runs.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to bat first in the first one-day match of the series played in Hambantota, Sri Lanka.

Pakistan’s batsmen took off to a disappointing start and the first wicket fell for just 3 runs in the form of Fakhar Zaman and he managed to score 2 runs.

Captain Babar Azam also became the wicket of Mujeebur Rahman at zero in the second over of the innings, and then the green team came under pressure.

Mohammad Rizwan along with Imam-ul-Haq pushed the score forward but he could not resist much in front of Mujeebur Rehman and with only 40 runs on the scoreboard, he was sent back to the pavilion.

The wicketkeeper-batsman scored 21 runs from 22 balls with the help of 4 fours.

Agha Salman was bowled out by Rashid Khan, who scored 7 runs, leaving Pakistan with 4 wickets for 62.

Iftikhar Ahmed played an innings of 30 runs off 41 balls and also did not last long on the pitch.

The green team lost its fifth wicket at the end of the 27th over with a score of 112.

Imam-ul-Haq led the team’s score and completed his half-century and was dismissed on the last ball of the 36th over and returned to the pavilion after scoring 61 runs off 94 balls.

Osama Mir was the seventh batsman to be dismissed as Mujeebur Rahman claimed his third wicket as Pakistan’s score was 160 runs.

Eighth batsman Shaheen Shah Afridi’s wickets were blown by Rashid Khan and his innings was also limited to 2 runs.

Shadab Khan played an important role in bringing the team’s score to 200 runs and was run out after scoring 39 runs off 50 balls.

Pakistan’s last wicket fell to 201 on the first ball of the 48th over when Haris Rauf scored a run and was lbw off Rahmat Shah.

Naseem Shah remained not out by scoring 18 runs off 27 balls with the help of 2 fours.

In the first one-day match, Pakistan managed to set Afghanistan a target of 202 runs to win in the allotted 50 overs.

Afghanistan’s Mujibur Rahman took the most 3 wickets, Muhammad Nabi and Rashid Khan dismissed two players, and Fazal Haq Farooqui and Rahmat Shah took one wicket each.

Unlike the batsmen, the Pakistani bowlers performed brilliantly.

Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed two players in succession in the third over to give hope of the team’s comeback in the match.

Afghanistan suffered a second loss on the next ball when Shaheen’s delivery was again caught by Agha Salman and this time it was Rahmat Shah who faced the first ball, who did not even get a chance to open his account.

From the other bowling end, Naseem Shah also continued with his pace and dismissed Afghan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi on the third ball of the fourth over. Shadab Khan took a brilliant catch to secure this wicket.

Afghanistan’s 3 wickets had fallen for just 4 runs, after which Haris Rauf came in to bowl and Ikram Alikhel, who scored 4 runs, was caught by Mohammad Rizwan.

Haris Rauf hit the dangerous batsman Rehmanullah Garbaz on the third ball of the 14th over and the Afghan team lost 5 wickets for 35 runs in pursuit of an easy target.

Afghanistan suffered another loss in the 16th over when Haris Rauf dismissed veteran batsman Mohammad Nabi, who had scored 7 runs, for his third wicket.

Haris Rauf took the wickets of Rashid Khan at the score of 48 and dismissed Afghanistan’s seventh batsman.

Afghanistan’s score was 54 when Azmatullah Umarzai retired hurt, after which Shadab Khan dismissed Abdul Rahman for 55, who had scored 2 runs.

Haris Rauf ended Mujeebur Rahman’s 4-run innings and claimed his fifth wicket of the match, while the retired Hurt Azmatullah could not return to bat.

The Afghanistan team was bowled out for 59 runs in the 20th over, defeated by 142 runs.

Haris Rauf won the Man of the Match Award for his Fifer!
