Light to heavy rain is reported to have started in different areas of Karachi as the coastal areas of Pakistan start receiving the impact of Cyclone Biparjoy.
The rain has started in Malir, Saudabad, Clifton, Hawke’s Bay, Ibrahim Hydari, North Nazimabad, Super Highway, and Scheme 33 areas of Karachi.
The Meteorological Department has predicted 50 mm of rain in the city today in view of the storm.
According to the Meteorological Department, the thunderclouds of Cyclone Biparjoy are moving toward Karachi, due to which rain with thunder is expected in different areas of the city in the next few hours.

Earlier, the Meteorological Department predicted the possibility of heavy rain in Karachi and Hyderabad on June 15 and 16 due to Cyclone Biparjoy.
According to the Meteorological Department, Tando Mohammad Khan, Tandwala Yar, Mirpurkhas, Hub and Lasbela are also likely to receive heavy rains till June 16 and a wind speed of 80 km per hour.
On the other hand, in Mirpurkhas, due to strong dusty winds, trees fell in many places, electricity wires were broken and electricity supply was suspended in most areas.
