Dozens of women sue Pornhub for uploading explicit videos without their consent!

As being reported, more than 30 women belonging to the US and UK have accused MindGeek, the parent company of Pornhub, of profiting from non-consensual sex videos.

The Pornhub site is reported to have 130 million users each day – more than Netflix or Amazon

Sky News on Friday reported that a number of affected women were left feeling ashamed and suicidal after explicit videos of them were posted on the world’s biggest online porn website – they claim without their consent.

The lawyer representing these women said that they are suing for damages which could amount to “hundreds of millions of dollars” if successful.

The lawyer also believes it is a moment of reckoning for the online porn industry.

Leigh Nicol, one of three British women involved in the case, said that she filmed herself having sex aged 18 was stolen following an iCloud hack.

The video was posted on sites without her permission owned by MindGeek, a company believed to be worth more than £1.2bn.

Leigh Nicol in an interview with Sky News said:

“Even at this point, I look at myself in the mirror and I feel sick because that’s no longer private to me.”

“Because a large part of the population has seen something that they shouldn’t have seen. There’s a shame, there’s an embarrassment, there’s disgust, sickness, there are doubts that I’m not good enough.

“I feel like no one would ever potentially want to actually be my future husband because I’ve got these videos attached to me.”

It was last year in December when Adult video giant Pornhub announced that it has taken the unprecedented step of removing millions of user-uploaded videos.

The move, which the Canadian-born site calls “the most comprehensive safeguards in user-generated platform history,” arrives in the wake of a New York Times opinion piece that stated the “site is infested with rape videos.”

Pornhub also announced that it would be limiting uploads to only verified users.
