Dubai launches extensive vaccination campaign against COVID-19

Dubai on Wednesday has  launched extensive vaccination campaign against COVID-19.

The vaccination campaign is being launched under Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management.

Dubai will start inoculating people with  Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine and is free of charge.

The Phase I of vaccination drive is for senior citizens and those suffering from chronic illness and are aged above 18.

The first batch of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccines arrived at Dubai from Brussels to Dubai on Emirates SkyCargo flight.

The shipment was offloaded and cleared on priority basis on arrival at Emirates’ dedicated SkyPharma facility.

UAE has become the first country outside China to roll out the Chinese manufactured vaccine, saying earlier this month it had 86% efficacy, citing an interim analysis of late-stage clinical trials.
