Gilgit-Baltistan IG Police has been changed on Wednesday following the allegations of the presence of GB Police personnel at Zaman Park!
As reported, the federal government dismissed Gilgit Baltistan Inspector General Police (IGP) Muhammad Saeed from his charge for deploying commandos and police at Zaman Park.
Muhammad Saeed has been ordered to report to the Establishment Division immediately.
Saeed Wazir is a Grade 21 officer of the Police Service.
Meanwhile, Ali Khattak, a grade-20 officer, has been appointed as the new IG police GB.
Dar Ali Khattak was currently posted as a Regional Police Officer of Kohat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
He is a grade 20 officer of the police service. He was posted in Kohat in January this year.
Both police officers hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are considered to be highly skilled and diligent.
The development comes as Maryam Aurangzeb at a news conference earlier today rebutted the accusation of the government’s involvement in the attempts of arresting Mr Khan.
She waved arrest warrants for Imran Khan saying that the latter was wanted in multiple cases including threatening a judge, foreign funding, and Tyrian White and Toshakhana.
Reports claim that around 50 Gilgit-Palistan policemen were present near Zaman Park.
Sources said that the police officers of Gilgit-Baltistan had reached Lahore on the orders of their government.
Officials from Lahore claimed that when the police and Rangers moved forward to arrest former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan at Zaman Park, they faced resistance around Zaman Park.
Currently, PTI’s government is established in Gilgit-Baltistan.
