Gold price surges to an all-time high in Pakistan on Thursday, as the rupee loses ground against USD.
The domestic gold prices hit an all-time high of Rs195,500 per tola after gaining Rs4,900 on Thursday.
According to the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of gold (24 carats) surged by Rs4,900 per tola and Rs4,201 per 10 grams to settle at Rs195,500 per tola and Rs167,610 per 10 grams, respectively.
The jewellers’ body also said that local gold was “under cost” by Rs1,500 per tola in Pakistan, compared to the Dubai bullion market.
On the other hand, the rate in the international market jumped to $1,936 after an increase of $11.
