KP govt asks PDM to delay rally, warns possible terrorist attack

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday asked the opposition to delay its upcoming rally in Peshawar followed by the threats of a possible terrorist attack.

The provincial minister for Labour and Culture Shaukat Yousafzai said, “Peshawar has witnessed a terrorism incident in which innocent children of a madrassa were targeted. The PDM should reconsider holding its Peshawar rally in view of the potential threat of terrorism.”

The PDM held their rally in Gujranwala, Karachi and Quetta and has planned the next in Peshawar on November 22.

The KP minister said the government will not stop any rallies but will give foolproof security for attendees. He further said that the Opposition has the plans to save the corrupt “under the guise of inflation”.

“The PDM should not play with the lives of the people to save the corrupt,” said Yousafzai. “The opposition has the right to raise public issues, but it wants to protect the corrupt under the guise of inflation, which will not be allowed”.

“PDM rallies were providing opportunities for the enemy to further its propaganda against Pakistan” he said.

Yousufzai further said “If PDM has an agenda on public issues, the government is ready to negotiate with them”.
