Leonardo DiCaprio Donates $5 Million to Help Stop Amazon Fire

Leonardo DiCaprio has made yet again an inspiring move as he came forward in support of victims and fighters of Amazon Fire that has caught up Brazilian amazon since last few weeks. The actor, on behalf of his organization Earth Alliance, has pledged to fight the amazon fire and made a substantial $5 million donation to the cause.

The actor’s donation will total the Amazon fire funds to £4 million, that will help fight the ongoing fire and help prevent it in future.

“The lungs of the Earth are in flames,” said the Titanic star.

“The Brazilian Amazon – home to 1 million Indigenous people and 3 million species – has been burning for more than two weeks straight,”

Without the Amazon, we cannot keep the Earth’s warming in check. The Amazon needs more than our prayers.” added Leo.

Utilizing his reach to create awareness, the actor told his followers a few steps they can take to help the cause.

“As an emergency response, donate to front line Amazon groups working to defend the forest,

Be a conscious consumer, taking care to support companies committed to responsible supply chains. Eliminate or reduce consumption of beef; cattle ranching is one of the primary drivers of Amazon deforestation,” informed the Hollywood superstar.

“Stay on top of this story and keep sharing posts, tagging news agencies and influencers,” he urged his fans as he shed light on effective mechanism against the wildfire that has increased by 84% since last year.

Concluding on a powerful note, Leonardo wrote, “When election time comes, VOTE for leaders who understand the urgency of our climate crisis and are willing to take bold action – including strong governance and forward-thinking policy.”
