Load Wedding to be screened the Asian Film and TV Week in China

Pakistani film Load Wedding will be opening at the Asian Film and TV Week in Guangzhou, China on 17th may, and screening will also be held in Beijing on 18th May.

The Asian Film and TV Week, as part of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC), will be held from 16 to 23 May  in China.

Fizza Ali Meerza and Nabeel Qureshi, producer, and director of the film Load Wedding are representing Pakistan at the event.

The opening of the event was held on Wednesday, hosted by Chinese President Mr. Xing Ping Jing.

The president of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena, King of Cambodia Norodom Sihamoni, President of Singapore Halimah Yacob, Greece, Armenia, and Director-General UNESCO Audrey Azoulay also attended the event.

Filmmakers from the Asian countries are representing their countries at the event. That include Aamir Khan from India, Majid Majidi form Iran, and many others.

A total of 60 selected Asian films from 30 Asian countries will be shown in the Chinese cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xi’an, and Guangzhou.

Many other popular films from the region to be screened at the festival include Dangal, Children of Heaven, Taare Zameen Par.

According to the event organizers, film specialists from China, Pakistan, Japan, India, Vietnam, and other Asian countries will be discussing the role and significance of Asian films in cultural inheritance, mutual learning among civilizations and bonding between the people.

The CDAC will focus on cultural diversity, exchanges, and mutual learning.
