Shab-e-Barat is going to be observed in Pakistan tonight. The fifteenth night of Shaban, the eighth month of the Islamic Calendar, is known as Shab-e-Barat. It is observed as the night of forgiveness and blessings.
For many Muslims, this night is considered to be the night when the fortunes of individuals for the coming year are decided.
During the night a large number of Muslims will visit graveyards to make special prayers for the departed souls of their loved ones.
Special arrangements for prayers have been made throughout the country’s mosques.
Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar has directed the Municipal Services department of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to ensure lighting and cleanliness arrangements in and around graveyards on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat.
The statement was issued on Friday, directing to make the special arrangements.
Mayor also indicated that the traffic wardens should be deputed at all roads to graveyards in the city to ensure clear pathways and smooth flow of traffic.
