President Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday once again returned the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Bill 2023 unsigned.
President Alvi observed that the matter was sub judice before the apex court.
The president said that it was not appropriate to proceed further on the bill as the Supreme Court was seized of the instant matter, President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
However, procedurally, the bill will become law on April 20, ten days after the bill is passed by the parliament.
On April 10, a joint session of the parliament once again passed the bill amid the opposition’s uproar after the president refused to sign it.
Meanwhile, an eight-member bench of the Supreme Court stopped the implementation of the bill.
