Prime Minister Imran Khan has responded to the POTUS Donald Trump’s comments, who accuses Pakistan of taking billions of dollars in aid and not doing “a damn thing” for the US. In an interview given to Fox News, and later tweeting about it, Donald Trump once again has accused Pakistan for doing nothing.
The response came in a series of tweets, in which Pakistani PM hasn’t just replied to the POTUS allegations, but has also responded to correct his facts and figures.
PM Imran Khan quoted in a tweet, that Trump’s false assertions add insult to the injury Pak has suffered in US War on Terror in terms of lives lost & destabilized and economic costs.
PM further added that Donald Trump needs to be informed about the historical facts. Pakistan has suffered enough fighting US’s war. Making Pakistan’s intention clear, IK said ‘Now we will do what is best for our people & our interests’.
The prime minister’s latest statement was in response to Trump’s tweets on Monday in which he accused Pakistan of taking billions of dollars in aid from the United States without giving anything in return.
In his earlier tweets, Imran Khan in response to Trump’s interview given to Fox News, the prime minister stressed that “record needs to be put straight on Mr Trump’s tirade against Pakistan”.
1. No Pakistani was involved in 9/11 but Pakistan decided to participate in US War on Terror.
2. Pakistan suffered 75,000 casualties in this war and over $123 billion was lost to the economy. US “aid” was a minuscule $20 billion.
3. Our tribal areas were devastated and millions of people uprooted from their homes. This war drastically impacted the lives of ordinary Pakistanis.
4. Pakistan continues to provide free lines of ground and air communications (GLOCs/ALOCs).
PM also called on the US to stop making Pakistan the scapegoat and “do a serious assessment of why, despite 140,000 NATO troops plus 250,000 Afghan troops and reportedly $1 trillion spent on the war in Afghanistan, the Taliban today are stronger than before”.
The Pakistani nation stands undivided behind PM Imran Khan and is applauding his response to the POTUS.
