Railways constable arrested for beating woman in a moving train gets bail

Judicial Magistrate approved his bail plea against a surety bond of Rs35,000.

The Railways constable arrested for beating a woman in a train is reported to have obtained bail.

A video clip went viral on social media revealing an incident where a police constable assaulted a woman onboard the train. The incident was reported to have occurred on April 7 on Karachi to Lala Musa-bound Millat Express.

According to Railways official, Constable Mir Hassan, who assaulted a woman in the Multan Express train, was arrested and suspended from duty.

However, on Saturday, a local court in Hyderabad granted bail to Constable Mir Hassan, who subjected a woman and two children to torture on a moving train.

The suspect was produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate Munir Ahmed, who approved his bail plea against a surety bond of Rs35,000.

South DIG Abdullah Sheikh confirmed the arrest of the officer and his suspension. He stated that such officers are not deserving of any leniency.

DIG South further emphasized that such disgraceful acts are unacceptable under any circumstances, and a case has been registered against the constable for his actions. He stated that besides taking legal action against the officer.

He assured strict disciplinary measures would also be taken.

DIG South stated that a thorough investigation is being carried out from all aspects of the case to ensure transparency.

As reported, the police constable came to check a ticket of the woman after he was told that she was travelling without a pass.

During inspection, the woman refused that she was travelling without a ticket after which the constable tortured her in front of her children.

Later, the police constable claimed that the woman had kidnapped the kids.

However, he later confessed of beating the woman after she misbehaved with him.
