Sarfraz Bugti has resigned as the interior minister as he intends to contest in the upcoming general elections.
As reported, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has accepted the resignation of Sarfraz Bugti as the interior minister.
According to the sources, Bugti tendered his resignation on December 13 citing personal reasons for stepping down from his position.
The sources added that his resignation was accepted on Friday afternoon, hours before the issuance of the poll schedule by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in light of the Supreme Court’s verdict, asserting that the elections in the country will be held on Feb 8.
Sources further claimed that the reason behind Sarfaraz Bugti’s resignation was to contest the election on the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) ticket.
