Shawwal moon not sighted! Eid ul Fitr to be celebrated in Pakistan on Saturday, April 22

Shawwal moon has not been sighted on Thursday evening, following which the Eid ul Fitr is to be celebrated in Pakistan on Saturday, April 22.

Tomorrow will be the 30th of Ramadan.

The announcement was made by Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad at a press conference in Islamabad.

Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad said: “We have not received any testimony of the sighting of the Shawwal moon across the country.”

“Eid-ul-Fitr will be held across the country on Saturday, April 22. The sky was clear in most parts of the country, while it was cloudy in some places,” he added.

The Zonal Sighting of the Crescent Committee Lahore announced that no evidence of the Shawwal moon sighting has been received from anywhere in Punjab, where the time was from 6:36 to 6:57 pm.

While giving a press conference, DG Awqaf Asif Ali Farrukh said that the moon has not been seen to the extent of Punjab province.

The zonal sighting of the crescent committee in Karachi also stated that it has not received any evidence of a moon sighting.

According to the Meteorological Department, the moon sighting time in Karachi was 7:17 PM today.

Islamabad and Quetta also did not receive any evidence of a moon sighting,

The central moon sighting committee made the final announcement regarding the sighting of the moon.

It should be noted that the meteorology department and astronomers have shown the possibility that the moon is difficult to see today and Eid-ul-Fitr may be on Saturday.
