Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook are still inaccessible across Pakistan without Virtual Private Network (VPN)!
It was reported on Friday night that mobile internet services have been restored across the country, however, the latest we get to know is that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has received no instructions to restore social media.
Following the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on May 9, the government restricted mobile internet service across the country, while social media platforms such as Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook were blocked.
Due to the restriction, most people are accessing Twitter through a VPN, including politicians, journalists, PTI leaders, and presumably the Prime Minister of the country as well.
Internet connectivity watchdog Downdetector showed the outage reports for Twitter were concentrated in major cities of Pakistan, including Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar.
