Morne Morkel resigned as the bowling coach of the Pakistan Men’s team on Monday, becoming the first casualty of the team’s humiliating World Cup exit.
The development was confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and it will announce his replacement in due course.
The former South Africa fast bowler joined the Pakistan team on a six-month contract in June this year.
Morkel’s first assignment with the men’s team was the Green team’s tour to Sri Lanka for the two-match Test series.
Sources claim that former cricketer Umar Gul is likely to get the position of the bowling coach once again.
Gul has already served as the team’s bowling coach in the past.
