PSL 6 remaining matches set to resume in June

PSL 6 will resume in the month of June 2021, with all the remaining matches set to take place in Karachi.

The mush anticipated cricket event of the country, Pakistan Super League’s sixth edition was postponed on March 4 after the emergence of positive cases among players and team members.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), announced the decision on Thursday after consultation with the PSL franchises and the Governing Council.

“June emerged as the most preferred and practical window due to Pakistan men’s national cricket team’s international commitments in March/April and late August/September,” the PCB stated in a release on Thursday (March 11).

“The remaining 20 matches in June are now being planned following the men’s national cricket team’s return from Zimbabwe on 13 May and before their departure for England on 26 June,” the statement added.

Only 14 matches were played so far till the league was postponed. The remaining 20 will be played in June as per the latest announcement by the board.

However, news dates for the remaining matched are yet to be announced.

With the postponement of Pakistan’s biggest cricket event, PCB faced severe criticism about its handling of the bio-secure bubble and poor implementation of SOP’s for the teams at the hotel and stadium.

While Head of the board’s medical and sports sciences department, Dr. Sohail Saleem also tendered his resignation to the PSB Chairman.
