Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk says he and Apple CEO Tim Cook have resolved their dispute following reports that the technology manufacturing company was considering removing the micro blogging platform from its App Store.
Elon Musk has said that the ‘misunderstanding’ he had about Apple removing Twitter from the App Store has been cleared up.
Twitter’s new owner has criticized Apple in several tweets over the past few days, saying the smartphone company has ended its ads for Twitter and threatening to pull the social network out of the App Store.
In his tweet on December 1, Elon Musk revealed that he went to Apple’s headquarters and met CEO Tim Cook.
He said that there was a good conversation with Tim Cook and the misconception about removing Twitter from the App Store has been cleared.
Elon Musk said that Tim Cook made it clear that Apple has no intention of removing Twitter from the App Store.
“Good conversation. Among other things, we resolved the misunderstanding about Twitter potentially being removed from the App Store. Tim was clear that Apple never considered doing so,” the billionaire CEO of Twitter and Tesla tweeted.
It should be noted that since the departure of Elon Musk’s ownership of Twitter, several companies have stopped advertising on the social media platform.
Apple is one of the companies that spends more than 100 million dollars in advertising on social media networks every year.
However, Elon Musk did not clarify whether the issue of 30 percent App Store fee, which he had criticized in the past, was discussed in the meeting with Tim Cook.
Apple has not released a statement on the meeting between Elon Musk and Tim Cook.
