Celebrating 30 years of musical journey, Strings announce their comeback!

What a great start to the year this is turning out to be, especially for the music fans all over the world. There have been some great announcements made about bands reunions and world tours already. And for Pakistanis, especially those who grew up in 90’s what else can be a merrier news?

Who can ever forget the name of Strings one of the most beloved bands to rise on the scene of Pakistani music? And now, for its fans, here’s an awesome news. Strings  has announced its come back after 30 years. As being reported the duo, Faisal and Bilal, will be doing 8 singles to celebrate 30 years of their musical journey, Urr Jaaon and Sajni to be the first two tracks.

Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia who laid t foundation of rock band in country in times when there were no music channels or social media. Year was 1990 when a group of four college boys made entry into Pakistan’s music scene.

There are many accomplishments to celebrate Strings 30 years journey because with the passage of time the band has remained remarkably relevant. Strings have been disbanded couple of times, first time it was in 1992 after their 2nd super hit album. Their song Sar Keye Ye Phar was originally released in 1992 as part of Album STRINGS 2. This song was re-released in 2000 as part of album DUUR, marking the come back of Strings.

In 2004, Strings were approached by Columbia TriStar to have one of their songs used in the Urdu/Hindi version of international blockbuster Spider Man 2. Strings became the first Pakistani band to ever sing on an international film.

The band released their fifth studio album Koi Aanay Wala Hai in 2008. They also showcased their skills by producing soundtrack for film Moor, which was critically acclaimed OST directed by Jami in 2015.

The duo has made a remarkable impression by impeccably producing Coke Studio for 4 years. Not just that Strings won their first international award in 2005, MTV Asia’s Favorite Artist India and has continued to win honor till today.

Strings also made a number of compositions for the Bollywood films including Zinda, Shootout at Lokhandwala and John Day. By announcing their comeback, what we can expect is more magnum opus to mark the 30 years of String’s journey.
