Meghan Markle’s critics have paced up once again as a recent speech of the former senior royal bears uncanny resemblance to the script of a Netflix documentary Social Dilemma. The speech presented at the virtual global conference, for which Meghan reportedly charged £1,342, is deemed as a plagiarized version of the documentary’s script.
The speech’s portion in question is: “There are very few things in the world where you call the person who’s engaging with it a ‘user’. People who are addicted to drugs and people on social media.” On the other hand, statistician Edward Tufte says in Netflix’s documentary: “There are only two industries that call their customers “users”: illegal drugs and software.”
The resemblance in both the statements has drawn the ire of the netizens as well as Meghan’s critics who accuse that the Duchess of Sussex has plagiarized a speech for which she was paid a hefty fee. Some went as far as calling her plagiarism a repeated action and laughable as she claims to not have used social media herself in the last four years.

“Omg, so Meghan paid to speak again for Fortune and ripped off the Netflix documentary The Social Dilemma theory about social media users being like drug addicts and had the cheek to say she hasn’t been on it [social media] for four years?” a Twitter user said.
“Meghan plagiarizes so casually, it’s become laughable now,” another quipped.
