British sovereign monarch Queen Elizabeth II will step down next year and make her son Prince Charles of Wales, the king. Royal experts believe that the monarch who is on the throne since February 1952 will announce her decision after celebrating her 95th birthday.
“I still firmly believe when the Queen becomes 95, that she will step down,” said biographer and commentator Robert Jobson while talking to True Royalty’s Royal Beat program.
Royal reporter Jack Royston concurred with Jobson but maintained it will not be easy for the Queen who turns 95 in April 2021.
“I think she won’t want to, but realistically she will get to a point where she has handed over everything to Charles and then how to do you look your son in the eye and tell him he is not going to be King?” analyzed the royal reporter.
Due to the sudden death of her father King Edward, Elizabeth took over the throne in 1952. She is termed as the longest-reigning monarch in the history of Britain.
