It seems India and Pakistan are playing a sordid game of ban. Where our actors/artists are banned from working in projects across the border, their films in our country more or less face the same situation. While a few are able to make the cut (just like Atif Aslam or Rahat Fateh Ali Khan bagging songs amidst the ban) a number of Indian films don’t get to see the light of the day in Pakistan.
The recent movie to have met the same fate happens to be Anushka Sharma- Kohli’s Pari. The film, although cleared by Karachi and Lahore censor boards was banned by the Islamabad censor board, CBFC quoting objectionable sequences in the flim.
Mobashir Hasan , the Chairman of Central Board of Film Censors CBFC talking with a daily stated that the film contained objectionable sequences that depicted the Quranic verses being used along with Hindu mantars to capture evil and were certainly not suitable for viewership in Pakistan.
Anushka Sharma will make you horror struck in this savage teaser of Pari
Pari was supposed to release on the 2nd of March 2018, however the fate of the film for now is sealed with a ban. It seems Anushka Sharma’s fans on this side of the border will have to wait for a little more time.
