Ballerina: Female-centric ‘John Wick’ spinoff is in the works

“Ballerina” a new female-centric John Wick spinoff is reportedly in the works at Lionsgate.

According to a report published in Deadline, the new spinoff focuses on a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family.

Reports also emerged that Shay Hatten, the writer of the blockbuster “John Wick: Chapter 3, Parabellum”, penned spinoff’s script.

So far the logline of the movie is not fully confirmed and being kept under wraps.

It has not been revealed whether John Wick star Keanu Reeves will appear in the spinoff, which follows an estranged lady.

Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski are producing “Ballerina” under the executive production of Reeves.

The movie will follow John Wick 4, which is scheduled to hit theaters in May 2021.

It is still not clear who will play the lead role in Ballerina.

The third installment of Reeves “John Wick: Chapter 3— Parabellum” over-performed at the box office and made $323 million worldwide, and is the highest-grossing entertainment released in more than five years.
