Khalil ur Rehman Qamar plans an Eid ul Azha release for “Kaaf Kangana”!

Fans will have to wait till Eid ul Azha this year, when the movie Kaaf Kangana written and directed by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar hits the cinema screens. It’s being made in collaboration with ISPR.

Director and writer of ‘Kaaf Kangana’ is Khalil Ur Rehman who is well known for writing many plays as Sadqay Tumharay, Landa Bazar, Piaray Afzal for which he bagged Lux Style Award and famous Pakistani film Punjab Nahi Jaungi has been a major hit is now taking the director’s chair for his upcoming venture.

While talking to Oye Yeah, the director himself revealed the cast for the movie and apparently there have been a few more changes. The cast comprises of Urwa, Sami Khan, Ayesha Omar, Aabi Khan, Sajid Hassan, Waseem Abbass, Saba Faisal, Shamim Hilali, Bilal Choudry and Begum Khursheed Shahid for now.

Adding further, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar told that about 20 present of the shoot has been done in various locations in Islambad, Lahore and Bahawalpur; while Bahawalpur will depict the Indian locations for the film. He said “Hopefully the shooting for the whole film will be completed by 10th of April. We’re looking at an Eid-ul-Azha release.”

The film is about an Indian girl and a Pakistani boy, unfinished love story which gets completed in 2018, through offspring’s of those who were in love before partition. Khalil Sahab quoted few lines to explain the thesis of the film,” I do not agree to the birthplace, however I believe that love takes place again and again as long it is not fulfilled.”

He further tells that the music for the film is already done; most of the songs have been made by Naveed Wajid Ali. One song is done by Sahir Ali Bhaga and Zulfiqar Ali.

Talking about the revival of cinema and how stories are currently following popular culture along with weak story lines, Khalil Sahab mentioned how he thought if your worked wasn’t praised after being looked it, he simply believed it to not be up to the mark. He also added that he never wanted to comment on how other’s worked and would stick to his soil, being an original till he died. A passionate writer and now a director, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, does not believe in being influenced from here and there rather than producing original works.

He further said, ” I always over estimate my audience. What I have learnt is that we have not given the substance to the people; I will go again in the time, like when I wrote Pyare Afzal, there was a letter involved. Who writes a letter nowadays, but then it became the biggest point of discussion.”

“Our public is very intelligent. We underestimate them if we provide them with bad stuff. But if they continue to give us respect, its their generosity,” adds Khalil Sahab candidly quoting Mirza Ghalib. ” Ghalib was Ghalib because of the audiences he had. Not everyone could understand him; people had to had a certain caliber to understand what Ghalib spoke of.”

Khalil Sahab has given us a number of hits since his association with Pakistan and its television and film industry. Now, donning the director’s hat, lets see how his film works out. A mega star cast with Urwa, Sami, Ayesha and Aabi, in prominent roles, Kaaf Kangana will hit cinemas on Eid-ul-Azha. Here’s to hoping a grand opening for this story.
