Queen of Tears concludes as the most buzz-worthy K-Drama

Queen of Tears concluded as the most buzz-worthy Korean Drama on Sunday.

Directed by Jang Young Woo and Kim Hee Won, tvN’s “Queen of Tears” aired simultaneously on Netflix for international audiences.

The K-Drama starring Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun, consistently achieved high viewership with each episode release.

The ensemble cast also included Kwak Dong Yeon, Park Sung Hoon, Yoon Bomi, Lee Joo Bin, and others.

The series depicted the dizzying crisis and miraculous rekindling of love between Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji Won), a third-generation chaebol heiress of Queens Group, and Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo Hyun), the son of farmers from Yongdu-ri, and their three years of marriage.

Fans had been eagerly waiting for the last episode to air and the early birds started to share spoilers on social media as soon as the finale premiered.

 

Ahead of the final episode, Queen of Tears recorded its highest ratings ever.

 

On April 27, Nielsen Korea revealed the ratings for the episodes that were released on the day.

With an average nationwide rating of 21.1 per cent, episode 15 of Queen of Tears achieved its rightest rating for any of their Saturday releases yet.

The drama kept breaking records.

Queen of Tears was short of just a few points to match or surpass the iconic K-drama, Crash Landing On You, which recorded 21.683 per cent for its series finale.

Previously, the Queen of Tears surpassed several iconic K-dramas in terms of ratings, including Reply 1988 and Goblin.

Furthermore, the K-Drama has consistently topped the list on Netflix for the most-watched non-English TV show category.
