What dramas got to do with Ramadan?

What dramas got to do with Ramadan?

It’s been a while since Ramadan special dramas have become a norm in our entertainment industry. The makers now prepare a whole lot of dramas that feature daily during the month of Ramadan.

Seems like those game shows and extravagant Ramazan transmissions were not enough to keep people busy with the TV screens so there is more addition to it.

But the thing is that cant all these entertainment providers show their creativity during the other 11 months of the year and do they necessarily have to target an audience during the holy month?

Well, the answer is simple the commercial values and capitalist market don’t respect religious values at all.

And now our cultural values are at stake too.

Coming back to these dramas, being labelled as Ramadan Special, but have got nothing to do with it.

Just have a look at what these commercial channels are offering this year.

Chand Tara 9 PM daily on Hum TV

Fairy Tale, every day at 7:00 PM on Hum TV from 1st Ramzan

Heer da Hero, from 1st Ramzan to air daily at 9 PM on Geo Entertainment

Like last year, this year too, a few special drama series are airing on daily basis. But believe as the majority of drama fans will be watching them after Ramadan on YouTube.

The credit for special dramas of Ramadan goes to ‘Suno Chanda’ has gained the most popular to date, two seasons of this drama were aired for two consecutive years, which was also liked by the fans.

Last year’s drama ‘Hum Tum’ became hugely popular, starring Ahad Raza Mir, Ramsha Khan, Junaid Khan and Sara Khan.

Well, the thing is can’t we wait for other occasions to carry on with the drama business and focus more on a spiritual connection with Ramadan?
