Armani cancels January haute couture shows amid COVID-19 surge

Armani cancels January haute couture shows amid the COVID-19 surge!

Italian fashion house Giorgio Armani has made an announcement that it would cancel its men’s and haute couture shows scheduled in January due to the surge in COVID-19 infections in Europe.

The designer has decided to cancel both the Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani men’s fall 2022 shows, which had been slated to take place in Milan on Jan. 15 and 17, respectively.

“This decision was made with great regret and following careful reflection in light of the worsening epidemiological situation,” a statement said.

“As the designer has expressed on many occasions, the shows are crucial and irreplaceable occasions but the health and safety of both employees and the public must once again take priority,” continued the statement.

As being reported, there are no plans for a digital version of the shows.

The fashion designer was the first in February 2020 to decide to close its runway shows to the public, holding the event without an audience.
